I don’t think one can quite put into words the magnitude of the spirit of unity that has rippled across South Africa in the last few weeks. A massive congratulations to the Springboks! Not only did they bring home the Gold and inspire to bring South Africa together as a nation, but also brought neighbours together as a community within the estate.
We had the privilege of hosting the Rugby World Cup Springboks games at the River Bushwillow Estate clubhouse. What began as a small collective, 3 tables and a few eager rugby fans gained momentum through the weeks and transformed into a very successful event for our Estate.
We as an (informal) events committee would like to thank each and every one of you who joined us. Without your attendance, support and tremendous spirit, the event would not have been a success.

There are a few people who deserve a mention for going over and above to help us;
Bianca unit 141 – Thank you for allowing us to use your DSTV login. Without you, there would not have been rugby to screen.
Junior & Lisa unit 98 – So much effort from your side to make this event enjoyable for our residents. You really showed us what we can achieve if you have a little bit of “Gees”. The venue was beautifully decorated and kitted out. Absolute rock stars!
Bertin & Kevin unit 54 – Thank you for the brilliant idea of hosting the RWC, for dotting all the “I”s and crossing all the “T”s for such an event. Huge thank you for all your technical expertise and lending of equipment.
Karmeni & Jonty unit 8 – A huge HUGE thank you for going over and above, for your very generous contributions and all your decorative efforts.
Armand & Natalie unit 34 – The biggest thank you to you both for your wonderful contribution, Armand, for your excellent “Faf” show to rally comradery and for helping us early Sunday morning to eradicate all evidence of the event.
John unit 92 & Lilia unit 190 – thank you both so much for your support and very generous contributions.
Joshua & Ashmira unit 160 – A big thank you to you both for all your support and efforts helping us at the clubhouse the following morning post the final.
On that same note, hosting such an event doesn’t come without its challenges and lessons learnt. It takes a great deal of coordination, organisation and after-hours efforts to create such an environment for all to enjoy. We kindly ask that when in attendance at future events, to remember such and treat the space with respect and consideration.
