Exciting New Eco-Friendly Additions at River Bushwillow Estate
In June 2024, River Bushwillow Estate embarked on an exciting and environmentally significant project. Thanks to the generous contributions from our residents, we successfully installed owl houses and bat hotels on the estate’s common property. This initiative, carried out by Eco Solutions, marks a significant step towards enhancing our local ecosystem and promoting biodiversity. Project Details Eco Solutions installed a total of six structures: These installations were strategically placed in various locations across the estate, ensuring they meet the specific habitat requirements of each species identiefied in the estate. The careful consideration of these locations will help provide safe and suitable homes for our local owl and bat populations. Carols by Candlelight 2023
It was that magical time of the year again and this time… we went all out! For the second consecutive year, River Bushwillow Estate had the pleasure of hosting our cherished event, Carols by Candlelight. Set against the backdrop of a warm summer evening, this heartwarming gathering aims to usher in the festive spirit and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Our mission? To raise funds for the Abraham Kriel home, so that the children there can experience the love and support they deserve. This year, however, marked a significant milestone in our event’s journey. Rugby World Cup 2023
I don’t think one can quite put into words the magnitude of the spirit of unity that has rippled across South Africa in the last few weeks. A massive congratulations to the Springboks! Not only did they bring home the Gold and inspire to bring South Africa together as a nation, but also brought neighbours together as a community within the estate. We had the privilege of hosting the Rugby World Cup Springboks games at the River Bushwillow Estate clubhouse. What began as a small collective, 3 tables and a few eager rugby fans gained momentum through the weeks and transformed into a very successful event for our Estate. Earth Day
A day in the sun at River Bushwillow! Solar solar solar!!!! What is it, how does it work and what do I need to know??? Well, these questions were answered during our Earth Day event! Owners had the opportunity to experience solar first-hand. Inverters, batteries and panels were available on the day and put to work to power our jumping castles, popcorn and candyfloss machines. The hospitality of our owners made the service providers feel right at home and the day ended by bonding around the braais, raising a glass to a successful event. Thank you to all our residents, especially our residents Lisa and Junior for making sure that all our guests had a bite to eat and something cool to wash it down.
The Joy of Christmas comes to Abraham Kriel
“YOU are incredibly generous!”… These were the words from the staff at Abraham Kriel. But, the expressions of joy on the faces of these children were beyond words. It was such a beautiful day at Abraham Kriel when I delivered the 60 gifts received from the generous souls at River Bushwillow. But the nice summer weather when arriving at the home could not prepare me for what was to come. Little did I know how the simple task of gathering gifts and delivering them could be such an emotional experience. After all, the simple gesture is so familiar to us. I simply parked the car, opened the trunk and start blasting some Christmas tunes… Setting the mood for a joyous occasion whilst a sea of eyes was watching my every move. And then it happened… In an instant, the entire area was buzzing with laughter and joy. The air started…
Carols by Candlelight 2022
What a night we had for the estate, friends and family! Our very first Carols by Candlelight was a huge success. Even with the rain that caused a bit of a delay we were up and running for a spectacular evening under the stars. The atmosphere was tranquil and the air filled with singing and carolling. We would like to thank each and everyone who came out to with your friends and families to enjoy this lovely evening with us. We managed to receive enough gifts for the girls at Abraham Ariel and will now proceed to deliver it. From the trustees of River Bushwillow we wish you a Merry Christmas!

Arbor Day 2022
Spring is around the corner and the first week in September is National Arbor week!For the very first time, this year the trustees asked for the community’s input to host a day to plant additional trees around the estate. Trees will assist to provide the habitat for birds and small animals in the estate, prevent water levels of the underground rivers from raising causing dampness during rainy seasons and contribute to the tranquil atmosphere we all came to love at River Bushwillow. A very special thank you to Marilize who reminded us all what arbor day is and the value of trees! We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Arbor Week. We are overwhelmed by the responses received by our owners and the community residing in the estate. We would like to thank each and everyone for your participation. New Braai’s
Just in time for spring, our new braai’s were installed! During our site inspection, it was found that our braai area is in desperate need of some TLC. It was decided to do urgent maintenance on the area. The braai structures were severely damaged and rendered all braais completely useless. The tranquil braai area is one of the selling points that makes River Bushwillow unique. It provides our residents with a space to relax with friends and families whilst enjoying the pool on hot summer days. We hope that you will enjoy the new braai’s. Please ensure that you clean the braai afterwards for the next resident wanting to use it. We hope you enjoy!
